Richardson is pleased to collaborate with Taiwanese photographer Sharol Xiao for RICHARDZINE 08. Using herself as her medium, Xiao’s coined “straight selfies” range from seductive to surreal, transcending the simple “look at me” demands of today’s online selfie economy, asking instead: “what is this you look at?”

Sharol Xiao (b. 1994) is a Taiwanese artist and author. She previously worked as a model, in the funeral industry, and in animal hospitals, a trajectory that led her to embrace photography as a means of observing both herself and the fragile nature of living. Xiao has held solo exhibitions in Bangkok, Tokyo, New York, and Taipei. Her most recent photographic book "SHAROL NUDE," was released in 2023.
